(Luke 9:49-62) There were many that desired to follow Christ, however some had conditions set before they would follow. In this passage one man wanted to be sure to bury his dead father first, and another wanted to have time to say goodbye to his family. Christ responded with a call of focus and not looking back.
When we are called to follow Christ we need to continue to be looking towards Him as our guide, not looking back or making conditions for following Him. Just as when we are walking, if we are looking back to where we came from we can easily stumble as we aren’t seeing where we are going. It is only as we continue to focus on Christ and follow him, without exception or condition, that we’ll be able to see God plan for us.
Let us keep out eyes fixed on Christ and the way we are to go! Amen!
