(Ezra 3:1-13) In the Scripture for today Israel was rebuilding the temple. The young were enthusiastic about what was happening, while the old where think about what had been and the old temple. The young and the old always seem to be at odds with each. A lot has to do with the clash of enthusiasm and experience. The young are always looking to what’s ahead, and not thinking about what came before, while the old don’t have as much life ahead of them so they dwell more on what had been.
When the young and the old, enthusiastic and experienced, can come together you have an amazing combination that accomplish much. God calls the young and the old to come together, because He knows the best combination to do His work.
